An Open Letter On Abortion Rights

If the shit isn’t hitting the fan in the reality you live in, I’m jealous.

On the off chance you missed it, a document, an official draft opinion, from the United States Supreme Court was leaked. It indicated that the intention of the court is to overturn Roe v. Wade and abolish federal protection for abortion rights in the Summer of 2022.

No matter what your position is on the moral standing of abortion, having one is a specialized medical procedure. Essentially, it is healthcare. It is woman care. It is family planning care.

Having an abortion does not make you a bad person. It does not make you a bad woman, mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend, or human being.

Having an abortion is a personal, private choice.

Having access to safe abortion facilities and trained, compassionate doctors and mental health support is imperative to the process.

Having the choice to discontinue a pregnancy is a right all women deserve to have protected.
