I really appreciate your writing and your outlook/perspective on the future of humanity. Many of your opinions resonate deeply with me, including this one.
I’m running the risk of sounding rude here, so please forgive me — I am asking from a genuinely interested place.
Did this belief come up at all in your decision to have a child?
I have struggled with the concept of having children for most of my adult life and one of my reasons has been that putting more strain on the earth and the diminishing resources doesn’t make sense to me —but, as I approach the big 40 next year, I am for the first time in my life feeling pangs of doubt about my decision to not have children.
I would really love to hear your thoughts about this debate — to have children or to not have children from the standpoint of helping preserve the future?
