Your Pro-Life Privilege Is Showing
and it sucks, so you should put it away.
This morning I read an opinion article on CNN that sent me spinning.
The young woman who wrote it states that those fervently hoping for a reversal of Roe v. Wade are in favor of women's freedom— they just want that freedom for the unborn child as well.
She is looking forward to a post-Roe America.
She thinks it will create a more supportive culture for women where they reject abortion.
She advocates for "Pregnancy Centers" and believes that after a pregnant woman is educated about all their options, they will choose "life."
She thinks that normalizing pre-marital sex is the problem.
Here's a direct quote:
I believe that abortion harms women. It allows men to get off consequence-free after having fathered a child and avoid the responsibilities of fatherhood. It undermines the beauty of motherhood and tells women that their children are a hindrance to their dreams and that life is not a blessing.
Barf.
I can tell this woman is young in age and life experience. I can tell that she was raised in a religious environment. I can tell that she is a white woman of privilege.
